[comp.sys.mac] FullWrite Professional open problems

qseclbb@pyr.gatech.EDU (Bill Joye) (06/15/89)

Ok, I give up... What is wrong with the bundle resource in
FullWrite Professional 1.0?

Sometimes, I am unable to open a FullWrite Document from
Finder. Solution... open the document from within FullWrite
or rebuild the desktop...

I looked at the bundle, FREF, and ICN# resources and I
did not see anything wrong (however, I'm no guru).

I remember this being old news, so just reply via mail.

Thanks,

bill joye

There is nothing wrong with the BNDL, FREF, or ICN# in FullWrite Professional.
The problem was that in the initial release of the product, the bundle bits
were set on both the Dictionary and Thesaurus files as well. Ashton-Tate
shipped new Dictionary/Thesaurus disks to all (supposedly) registered owners
very shortly after this was discovered. You can take care of it yourself
by just unsetting the bundle bits on those two files (and the INITed bits),
exit to the Finder and reopen the folder that you've got them in. This is
easier to do if you're not running under MultiFinder -- if you are, then make
sure that the folder that contains the files is closed while you're performing
the bit-flipping.
