I need people to beta test a new cross-referencing and bibliographic citation facility for Microsoft Word. Like some other systems, it uses the Print Merge facility to do its thing. The bibliographic references are kept in the ever popular BibTeX format, and a stack is supplied for creating/editing BibTeX bibliographies. This system is called WordRef, and it is aimed to be more flexible than any of the existing cross-referencing/citation facilities. It allows almost complete freedom in defining names for cross-reference variables (they are not required, for example, to be eight characters long) and an unlimited number of counters can be used. There is also considerable flexibility in the appearance of bibliographic citations and the references which finally appear in the bibliography. I am looking for people who: 1) Have a good chunk of time to spend testing, 2) Are willing to report whatever problems or confusions they have, 3) Have access to HyperCard version 2.2 (or later) and Word 3 or 4, and 4a) Can test in Mac environments I don't have access to (Mac II, SE, 128, Plus, SEx, IIx, IIcx) with lots of INITs, CDEVs, etc. AND/OR 4b) Have existing bibliographies in BibTeX format. If you are interested, please send (via email) a list of the Mac environments you can test in. Thanks, Mark
