I have it on my hard drive but how do I get I off and put it on another persons hard drive. The program is 890K and the disk can only hold 790K so how can I break the program into parts? I hate to go "pirate-preaching" but the easiest way would be to reinstall the software from the original disks. Aldus includes a utility to combine the two portions of the application into one file on a hard disk. You do have the originals, don't you? It's against my better judgement, but here is one way to go about moving a very large file: send in your StuffIt registration fees and use that wonderful little utility. It can compress files so that they do fit on one disk. And if they don't, it can split files into pieces that can be reassembed at a later time. This is the best utility program I have ever used. Speaking of utility programs, keep your eyes open for a new utility program coming out soon (July if everything goes well in the beta stage) that would enable you to copy the file from one hard disk to the other without copying to a floppy disk (yes, over LocalTalk). I have seen transfer speeds in excess of 4K per second... -Michael to the other without copying to floppy disk (yes, over LocalTalk). -- Michael Niehaus UUCP: <backbones>!{iuvax,pur-ee}!bsu-cs!mithomas Apple Student Rep ARPA: mithomas@bsu-cs.bsu.edu Ball State University AppleLink: ST0374 (from UUCP: st0374@applelink.apple.com)

I agree that the best thing is just to re-install pagemaker from the distribution disks, but failing that, you can use HD Backup to copy a larger-than-one-floppy file to floppies and back.

[inquiry to copy Pagemaker 3.0 to diskette...] Your best bet would be to backup the entire folder to disk with HDBACKUP.
