If you desire a blanker that will provide a COMLPETE loss of screen activity, investigate DAtabase by Preferred Publishers Inc. It provides for full screen blanking via an attractive dissolve. Not automatic, is has to be selected if desired. DAtabase itself is well worth checking out on its own. For the individual that wished for an 'option' from Pyro...try pressing the OPTION key next time the fireworks are up. BTW, those works are supposed to be in color on a MAC II. I agree that the fireworks are
distracting/entertaining. My three-year-old son loves them, and regulary asks permission to bring up the floating analog clock. He has decided to call the works 'Space Shuttle"....I tell him later how he was born the day of the Challenger's destruction. Want to have Pyro's clock as the default? Move any print spooler into your System folder.
I've used many blankers on different systems. Pyro is more than just a blanker, and will be in use on my MAC's for quite some time. Pyro is a favorite in Japan as well. Want to discuss the 4th of July? Mention Pyro and they get the message immediatly.
