Greetings... I'm looking for a simple,CHEAP audio sampling interface for the MAC+. The ideal interface would have a direct/mic input and be capable of generating a simple sequential file of 8-bit sampled data, suitable for burning into an EPROM. I have a target microprocessor system that is capable of reading the sampled waveform in an EPROM, doing a d/a conversion on the 8-bit data and sending it along to a speaker. So, the interface to a mac is needed to generate an 8-bit sampled data file from sounds input from a mic or tape recorder. I can then burn this file into an eprom for my target system. The required sample rate should be ~10Khz, and I only need a second or two long sample. If the sampling rate were variable, that'd be even better. I have access to an Ensoniq sampler, if anyone thinks that it might be easier to sample and edit using that, then somehow massage the resultant data to be rommable. Since this is an awfully specific problem, please respond by E-MAIL to ..!uunet!telxon!bobp and if there is sufficient interest, I will post my results to the net. All help is GREATLY appreciated!

MacRecorder, from Farallon Computing, $135 + S/H from MacWarehouse.
Does exactly what you want.
