[comp.sys.mac] Ugrading to SE/30

ceowyn@ucscb.UCSC.EDU (Silverlock) (06/28/89)

After asking at the campus bookstore about upgrades, I was told
that I should just sell my SE and buy an SE/30. Now, being the
untrusting sort, I would like to know how much Apple is asking
for the upgrade board, and is it even worth it? I _really_
would like to have virtual memory, but if I'm going to have to
pay too much for it, I might as well just chuck my machine and
buy a IIcx...

The cost of the board is $1700 (OK--1699). We've had one on order for
some time and finally got an SE/30 instead. Our dealer thinks it's not
really released yet. At least they can't get it.
