[comp.sys.mac] Difference in 3.5" Drives

Hi Netters!

Quick Question - Can a 800K floppy that contains data be read
from a 1.44Meg Drive? Can it be read with no problems?
I'm sure (read: 99.9% positive) that a 1.44 can't be read on
a 800K, but I was wondering about the otherway.

Please E-mail responses....Thanks

I've been reading and writing 400K and 800K disks with my 1.44M drive
sucessfully. I did have troubles formatting a 400K disk, once.

You are right. It offers to reformat the disk.
