Here is some info(edited) I pulled off AppleLink about SilverLining:


SilverLining: HD Format Utility From La Cie Ltd.
 
A utility program from La Cie Ltd. called "SilverLining" is similar to HD
Setup in that it formats hard drives.  In addition, SilverLining can
partition your hard disk and let you assign passwords to partitions.  Also,
the user can select whether or not a partition will be mounted at startup.
 
SilverLining ships with all La Cie hard drives and is available as part of
a software package called "SilverServer" (similar to TOPS but with modem
sharing too).
