[comp.sys.mac] Dumping PostSrcipt to disk: how to make default?

koster@let.vu.nl (C.J. Koster) (07/09/89)

OK, we know and use the F/K trick, and we can make this beautifull "Disk file"
checkbox visible in the print-dialog, which word doesn't use. Two questions:

1) When you hold dwon the shift-key before selecting "Print..." from the "File"
menu in MS-Word 3.01b you DO get the normal standard print-dialog, but if
you click "OK" or try the F/K trick nothing happens. Any ideas how one
might get this a) to work and b) to come up as standard?

2) For our purposes we always need postscript-files on disk, and need NOT to
print directly to a laserprinter (ever). So I have been looking for a way
to get the "Disk File" check-box pre-selected (I must remain hidden though).
This might even work in Word from Word's own print-dialog (I hope?). But so
far I haven't been able to. The Page-Setup pre-select information is in
PREC 0 (if I remember corectly), and can even be set with that brilliant
myPageSetup. Any idea where the pre-select information for the print-dialog
   is?

Sorry for dragging this conversation on, but I really need this info (long
story), and I think others are interested as well. Thanks in advance for any
clues.
