What is the probability that RR 11 will have full zmodem support? The ymodem support is fair at best. n -- York University |"_Wanting_ to think is one thing; Department of Philosophy | having a talent for thinking another" Toronto, Ontario, Canada | - L. The Ymodem in RR11 is not the same as in RR10 either, so I am not sure what the last statement means either? Answering these questions is hard since every persons ideas or perceptions are different. Without knowing where you are coming from or what you expect, I cannot really give a decent reply. Perhaps it is best that I don't say much of anything until it ships and you can decide for yourself at that time. -- Norm Goodger SysOp - MacInfo BBS @415-795-8862 3Com Corp. I don't get it! Sure Red Ryder is Slow but at the price what alternative gives you the features RR does? I guess if all I did was down load from Compu$erve it might bother me, but for using it to communicate with our VAX's I love it. I like the user interface too! Faster downloads, better terminal emulation (rock-solid VT100 emulation, plus TEK4014 and DG D200 for when you need them), better documentation (all-new manual with the just-released version 4.0). Scripting capabilities are sufficient for anything I've ever needed. I haven't touched RR 10.3 since I got it. In fact, I'll sell my copy to anyone for the $40 I paid to upgrade to it - any takers? >I guess if all I did was download from Compu$erve it might bother me.. Anyone doing much interaction with C$S should get the Compuserve Navigator program which allows you to prescript all your sessions and review the transcripts at leisure, plus offers maximum download speeds, all of which minimize the cost of using C$S. I wholeheartedly concur with the comment on VersaTerm. It sells for $69 from Mac Connection, has the best VT100 I have seen (not to mention the Tektronix which I don't need to use or the DG). Bulletproof XModem, YModem, and Kermit, and right with the fastest around in transfer speed. It doesn't really have a scripting orientation, but has an excellent macro-handling facility. I personally think it puts Red Ryder to shame, costs about the same, and is a good example of what a commercial comm package should be.
