  Short story:

Called them up and ordered some 1 meg SIMM's for my Macintosh Plus & my
girl friends.....
Asked if the memory would work in a plus, they said yes.

Recieved the memory, it was backwards on the SIMM board, sent it back no
problems, they were very nice.

Got the "fixed" memory and went to install it. Well the boards were poorly
manufactured and had pins sticking out the back of the board that prevented
the SIMM's from seating in the socket properly. Called them up and wanted
to return the product. They said no, it's your problem, if we take them back
we'll charge you 15% restocking fee + shipping cost. By this time I was
tired of futzing around with these guys, I needed memory so I called Chip
Merchant, recieved it the next day, it installed perfectly, and was 10 bucks
cheaper than Memory Masters.

  1) I never recieved an invoice from them for any of the purchases.
  2) No mention of the restocking fee was make at the time of purchase, or
until after I'd recieved the stock. {note: they now have it as part of
their ad, if you find an old issue of MacWeek, look at their ad and
      the restocking fee is missing.}
  3) This whole process took two weeks, I needed the memory, and really
      couldn't afford to wait.
  4) I tried to cancel my order when the 1st batch was bad, they refused.
I needed the memory and they said it would take at least one week. I
wanted to cancel and go with Chip Merchant, and I'd get it the next day.

These are just my experiences with Memory Masters, you mileage may vary.
But I've had no problems with Chip Merchant or any of the other vendor's
in MacWeek. I also have on occassion had a client back out of a Memory
upgrade after I've ordered it. No other vendor besides Memory Masters has
had a problem with me returning a purchase with in a short time. No other
vendor has ever charged me a re-stocking fee. But those are just my
experiences. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

None of my business goes to Memory Masters however. :-(
