I have a 100 meg disk broken up into 5 partitions. Would the partitioning
itself increase the amount of memory the Finder needs? I only have about 30
megs in total (my disk crashed and I haven't restored everything).
Sometimes recently when I try to copy not all that many files (5-10) from one
partition to another I get the message that the Finder is out of memory and to
copy the files in 2 groups. I have allocated 200k for the Finder, but it
still does this. When I do "About Finder", sure enough, it seems to be using
all the memory allocated for it. When I closed a couple of windows the copy
worked.
Is something screwy with my Finder (it might have been damaged, since I
recovered it from the crashed disk before I reformatted it), or is this normal
behavior with multiple partitions? (These are true partitions, BTW).
