[comp.sys.mac] X11 for the Macintosh?

enk@noddy (Edan Kabatchnik) (07/19/89)

Net,

Do any of you out there in Net World know if there is either a public
domain or third party X11 server for the Macintosh? I have heard rumors
that Apple will be coming out with one eventually, but that could take time.

Any information along these lines would be appreciated.

Yes, there is an X11 for the Macintosh. White Pine Software of Amherst NH
has a package called eXodus which runs right now (I have a copy). It uses
TCPort from Kinetics or MacTCP from Apple (although I am not sure if the
MacTCP version is shipping yet). It also works over DECNET from Technology
Concepts or Alisa Systems (Community-Mac and TSSnet respectively).

Their contact information is:
	White Pine Software
	94 Route 101A
	P.O.Box 1108
	Amherst NH 03031
