Does anyone know when MacX will be released? It was announced on June 12th by Apple but I read in MacWeek that it wouldn't be available until the winter. Is there a public domain version out there that I could use until MacX arrives? Any information would be appreciated.

Any information would be appreciated. According to the Apple folks at Xhibition, it won't be available to certified developers for a few months yet, so I assume public release is probably further off than that. The only other solution I can suggest is getting the Mac X server from White Pine Software (although due to bit rot I can't remember what it's called at the moment). I would certainly not hold my breath waiting for a PD Mac X server, though... -- William Kucharski ARPA: kucharsk@uts.amdahl.com UUCP: ...!{ames,decwrl,sun,uunet}!amdahl!kucharsk Disclaimer: The opinions expressed above are my own, and may not agree with those of any other sentient being, not to mention those of my employer. The WhitePine server is called eXodus. I have seen a d version of MacX and I have seen eXodus. Lemme tell you, the Apple product runs at lightspeed compared to the WhitePine server.
