Does anyone know of a public domain program or da which will strip the high bit off all the characters in a file? I know that this is a trivial program to write but I am not a Mac programmer plus I hate to re-invent the wheel. This is requested by a user who has a bunch of files brought over from an Apple II using Apple File Exchange. He says all the files have their high bits set. Maybe he is just doing something wrong in the transfer. Any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks. I know that this is a trivial program Two desk accessories DeskZap and I think MacSink do this. DeskZap does it for sure. Try your local public domain files.

That's a 1986 address, but I don't know any other way of getting it. McSink is more useful, but I didn't know it stripped high bits. Dan Dlugose UNC Educational Computing Service
