[comp.sys.mac] II -> IIx, FDHD, IWII sheet feeder questions

cca@pur-phy (Charles C. Allen) (07/24/89)

I really have tried to get this info from the only local "authorized
Apple dealer", but to no avail. A call to Apple referred me to my
local dealer. Sigh. Maybe someone out there can help me...

    1.	The Mac II to Mac IIx logic board upgrade costs about $2800.
Is there a trade-in allowance for the old Mac II logic board?

    2.	Getting an internal FDHD on a Mac II involves buying the FDHD
mechanism for $500 as well as a ROM/SWIM chip upgrade for
$200. If the II to IIx upgrade is done first, is the ROM/SWIM
	chip upgrade necessary?

    3.	Can the new ROM/SWIM chips handle an "old" 800K drive as well?
There would be one FDHD and one 800K, both internal.

    4.	Can the ImageWriter II Cut Sheet Feeder handle envelopes using
the single-sheet feed slot? I've managed to get ahold of a
manual, but it never mentions anything about envelopes
	specifically.

Any info welcome! References to specific part numbers, AppleLink
messages, etc., even more welcome!
