Peronal opinion: Starting now, I would not buy an accelerator that does not have a socket for plugging-in the PMMU chip to enable use of virtual memory when system 7.0 comes out. I have asked Radius about putting the PMMU onto my Radius accelerator and they have said, "Sorry, there is no way." I haven't seen an accelerator advertizing PMMU-compatibility, has anyone else? The Gemini series of mac+ and SE accelerator cards support both the 68020 and 68030 chips. I just upgraded my 68020 card at 16mhz to a 68030 at 25mhz for $395. I am a dealer for these cards and can get you one at substantial discount from list. They support 7.0, and Virtual from Connectix? now. I use it to run a major BBS on Fidonet. The cards are fast and reliable. Service is great from TSI who makes them. The card also has no probelm with SilverLinings new release 5.1, in fact I have yet to find a program that doesnt like it but you can always boot on your original chip if you need to. I have an Orion Accelerator board for my SE. 16Mhz, 68020, 2M RAM made by MacPeak. This board has a socket for a PMMU. I have not tried it out since I am not sure about PMMU pricing (I privatly own the SE). When system 7.0 comes out and PMMUs cost about $200, It will be well worth the "upgrade". Hope this helps. JB
