[comp.sys.mac] IIcx improvements, more

stel@tank.uchicago.edu (stelios valavanis) (07/25/89)

i'm definitely going to buy a IIcx (have a plus now) but before i do i
want some advice. since the 25mhz IIcx is coming out sometime soon,
would it be worth waiting for? what about any new roms? now that
1meg simms are getting cheap (finally) will new machines come with
4meg? what's the speed of the stock simms anyway? i know you have to
use the same speed chips if you add on instead of replacing old simms.
NOW the most important questions

i will be selling my plus and jasmine 20. what's a fair price for
these? the mac's about 3 yrs old and the jasmine's about 2.
incidentally all you jas-flamers, i have had one little crash with my
jasmine from which i was able to recover. i have the original DD20
though. i think i'll be getting an apple this time (university
pricing). oh, a lot of software will come with this setup.

other stuff
anybody know if the real-time video cards mentioned on the net can
completely replace whatever video card you have in your mac? i want
to get one of these things but i want to know if i should not buy the
regular video card.
also
what was that DA that allowed you to connect over a modem so that any
game could be played via modem? i tried to email to the guy who had
posted this but it bounced. he was chris parson
(f54.n382.z1.FIDONET.ORG).
other
anybody know of a wind tunnel simulation prog? i've got a 12 yr old
friend with a passion for paper airplanes. he has too many designs to
physically create.
TIA
