I am interested in running UNIX on my Mac, however before shelling out the $2000 Businessland wants for the package, I would like to know if anyone out there has used it and what their experience was like, i.e. is it buggy (a rumour I've heard says that it is). Also, does anyone know if it works with Virtual (the DA which gives uses the PMMU to give you machine up to 8Meg of VMem) or if the A/UX support files (e.g. man, enscript, etc) can be spread out over multiple small disks or if one big disk is needed? If so how big is necessary? Finally, how much physical memory is necessary for it to run well? 4Meg, 8Meg, or more? Thanks in advance for all your help, Steve P.S. - If the response warrents it, I will summarize to the net. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOMAIN: sbchanin@sj.ate.slb.com (for the adventurous) UUCP: {amdahl,decwrl,uunet}!sjsca4!sbchanin INTERNET: sbchanin%sjs@sdr.slb.com USMAIL: Steven Chanin, Schlumberger Technologies, 1601 Technology Drive, San Jose, CA 95110 PHONE: 408-437-5144

I imagine you can get all the latest pearls, chaff, and sludge there ( how's *that* for a mixed metaphor? :-). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian R.
