I dropped my 70 Meg LaCie Cirrus yesterday. I was riding the Orange Line (one of the subway lines in Boston) and had set it on the seat. I then shifted my position and in the process, shoved it onto the floor. It made enough noise landing that people looked up to see what happened. I was worried. But I was also backed up fairly recently--which we all know prevents disk death of all kinds. When I got home I plugged it in and .... and .... It Worked!! I get to work today and it still works! (I am using it now.) It was in its padded case when it landed, by the way. It is a 70 Meg Cirrus bought around Christmas last year. I think it has an Epson mechanism, but I can't remember. Chalk up one satisfied LaCie customer. (And please don't tell LaCie about my dropping it, at least until my warrantee runs out in a few months. I still might need service in the next few months...)
