I don't know the original discussions on this subject, but I also have had problems with an Everex product--a 90 MB hard disk installed into my Mac II. The dealer had talked me into this package deal which included the Everex. The drive gave me problems from Day 1, up to and including a crash with 40 MB worth of (fortunately backed-up) information on it. Later, I brought some pressure to bear on the dealership to replace the drive with an Apple 80 MB hard drive. Because of these experiences, I cannot recommend Everex products to Mac users. I sincerely hope no one else in Everex is reading this; it's my head for what I'm about to say. I talked to an Everex engineering manager about the reputation of Everex customer support. He said it was bad. Ouch. On the other hand, I am now willing to forward any/all problems with Everex hardware to the people who should handle them. John Yen thwang@cory.berkeley.edu
