I hope someone can help me out...I'm having cable problems again. I want to connect my Mac Plus to a QMS PS 810 LaserPrinter and I know relatively little about AppleTalk. The QMS PS 810 comes with a serial port, a parallel port, and a DB-9 AppleTalk port. Is there any way (or cable) I can connect my Plus to this using anything but AppleTalk (or Tops) connectors? The laserprinter's manual suggests using AppleTalk, but I assume they think this printer will be used by a network, rather than stand-alone as in my case. As an alternative, does anyone know if (and how) PostScript files could be sent through the serial port from within a program...I could always print to disk and use a terminal program but I want to know if I can reroute Post Script output meant for the AppleTalk port to the Modem Port. Thanx in advance! --- * Via ProDoor 3.01R

You should be able to connect the Plus with just a Mac printer cable (what you'd use for an ImageWriter), if it's the only node. Be sure to turn AppleTalk on in the Chooser. -- - Scott
