I'd like to use a 1200 baud "hayes compat" modem with a RS-232 type of 25 pin connector with my mac plus. I read in the Apple hardware reference (pg5-18,..) that the mac plus seriel interface (8 pin modem plug) is at the RS-422 standard. They say that you can ground the positive side of the RS-422 reciever (mac pin 8) and leave unconnected the positive side of each transmitter (mac pin 6) to get close to RS-232 functional performance. I have a mac plus to printer cable (8 pin to 25 pin). Will this work, or is something going to fry? Carl Radens radens@ucece1.ece.uc.edu (internet) cradens@uceng.uc.edu (internet)
