Hi, Does anyone have a list of printer drivers that do outline/scalable fonts for the HP DeskJet? I know of only one: Jetlink Express from GDT Software. As I read their ad, it sounds like it lists at $149 with another $199 for the outline fonts, resulting in a total price of about $348 list. With MacPrint going for about $79 street price, I'm tempted to forgo outline fonts until system 7.0, but I want to make certain I'm not missing some other company's product. If you have any info on upcoming products for the DeskJet at MacWorld, I'd also like to hear about those; I'll probably go and check them out there since it's local for me. Thanks for any info you might have; I'll happily summarize for the net. Carl P.S. No need to tell me about the DeskWriter; I already know about it. Unfortunately, I had a need to support a PC-compatible laptop as well as the Mac, so the DeskWriter was not an option.

We bought MacPrint for the same reason and are VERY happy with it. The publisher has promised to support the new System 7.0 scalable fonts in the future. In fairness to GDT, Jetlink Express isn't really as expensive as you indicate. For $149 you get the driver and outline fonts for Symbol, Helvetica, Times, and Courier scalable from 3 to 127 point. The additional $199 package adds all the rest of the LaserWriter II fonts/styles and is actually a very good deal.
