[comp.sys.mac] MS Word on Suns??

kristoff@NET.BIO.NET (David Kristofferson) (08/01/89)

I have heard that WordPerfect runs on Suns and would like to know if
Microsoft has any plans for porting Word to Suns. If so, would it be
more Mac-like or PC-ish?

You can run Word on a Sun 386i as a virtual DOS machine. And knowing the Sun
graphics interface I would probably expect it to be more Mac-ish if a port is
done. If you want DOS compatability, get a Sun 386i or put an IPC (PC/AT VME
board) in it. I don't expect MS to play ball with Sun. MS did a botched up
enough job with Xenix until SCO took the ball and now has been making slam
dunks ever since. MS even owns stock in SCO from what I have heard.
