Taken from the Minneapolis StarTribune (Thursday, August 3, 1989) COLOR IS NEXT Next Inc., the computer company started by Apple Computer's co- founder Steven Jobs said his fu- ture computers will use technology that will display color images of photographic quality. Jobs said the color versions of the Next computer will use Renderman, a software tech- nology developed at Pixar Inc., a San Rafael, Calif., computer graphics compnay he also controls. In article <820@orbit.UUCP> granteri@pnet51.cts.com (Grant Erickson) quotes
a NeXT press release that mentions their future color plans. At SIGGRAPH,
a NeXT spokesman stated that they plan only to support 32 (24?) bit color,
skipping over the more limited color-map formats.
