I have an SE/30 with 2Mb RAM running mulifinder. When I open Excel 2.2 then Word 4.0, I get not enough memory error. When I inquire about how much memory is taken by each application, Excel hogs 1024K RAM. If I open Word first and then Excel, it asks me if I want to use existing memory for Excel. I do and I continue. From what I gather, the requested memory for Excel is set to use 1024K on startup (In the Finder, Get info option) and the suggested memory is 1024K. And Word is set to 512K.
