[comp.sys.mac] Inexpensive Memory, Great Company--Technology Works

rowen@blake.acs.washington.edu (Russell Owen) (08/11/89)

Add me to the list of satisfied Technology Works customers.
They sell good, inexpensive memory, have a lifetime warrenty,
accept credit cards, and have superb customer support.

It's their customer support I particularly wanted to write about.
I really got to see it in action this time (my second order)
because my order somehow got lost. After giving it an extra 2 days to arrive,
I called them, at about 4pm. They apologized profusely and shipped me out
a new order that very afternoon, via NEXT-MORNING Fed. Ex. To top that off,
they phoned me the next morning to see if I'd gotten it (I had).
And of course they didn't charge me anything for shipping.

I was very impressed. Another company might have waited for UPS to trace
the original order before sending out the new one, or have shipped it via
a slower route, and how many companies would call to confirm its arrival?

Technology Works:
1-800-622-2210.
The price last week was $114 for 1Mb SIMMs (Samsung, 80ns!),
plus $5 shipping via standard UPS or $10 shipping via 2nd-day UPS.

I have no connection to Technology Works except as a very satisfied customer.
