Recently, I got the opportunity to try the new version (2.0) of Strategic Conquest Plus. A friend of mine was in town, and we were having a good time have plugged our two Mac Plusses together and having declared war on each other <-= Anywho, when our game was interrupted by dinner, we decided no problem, just save it and come back to it after (we went to a picnic). When we came back, we couldn't get the game to open the saved game. If my friend (who had run the Appletalk Master part of it and had the saved game on his disk) tried double clicking on the saved game icon, we got the error dialog box saying "application is busy or missing". We tried running another two player appletalk game, but it doesn't offer us the restore game option. We tried runing a one player game, and it would let us restore the two-player game, but gave us a network error (which we were kind of expecting anyway). Now the only solution I can think of a week later is that I don't think he saved it when it was first created (the game offers a save game as box when you first run it) and perhaps it has to be saved at that point to be recognized as a two-player game. Other than that, we are stumped as to why it will restore a single-player game, but not a two-player game. Is this a known bug that we need to send back our brand new disk, has anyone run across something similar? Help me if you can I'm feeling down.. <-= (and the game crashed the second time, just when I had him in the crushing jaws of reason... I mean jaws of infantry... ah, you get the idea <-=) ------- George A.
