[comp.sys.mac] Problem using MacII as AppleShare FileServer without Videocard

Due to some delay in ordering a third party monitor we now have the chance
to run one of our MacIIs as AppleShare FileServer without monitor and
videocard.
In the AppleShare manual you can read that this should be possible.

But unfortunately the MacII is unable to boot with AppleShare. 

So I tried to find out what's the reason of this problem.

At first I removed the scrensaver and MacsBug from the ServerFolder.
Nothing worked.

The I took a videocard from another MacII, put it into the Mac and  suddenly
it worked.

Is the information in the AppleShare manual that it also should work
on a MacII without videocard wrong ?
