[comp.sys.mac] Questions about Apple Site[?] Coordinator status

bskendig@phoenix.Princeton.EDU (Brian Kendig) (08/14/89)

I've heard about a program that Apple supports, whereby a person acts as
a 'go-between' between a large organization (business or academic) and Apple.
He is authorized to field questions from the organization, providing a more
rapid response than would be gained by going directly to Apple, and he also
keeps Apple from being bogged down by people with basic questions.

As far as I know, he is not reimbursed by Apple directly, but he does receive
[bi-?]monthly shipments of technical notes (not Tech Notes, just generic
info on equipment and such) and other information about reduced prices on
equipment.

I'm, not even sure I have the name of the position correct: Does ASC really
stand for Apple Site Coordinator, or Apple System Coordinator, or what?

If anyone could suppliment my meager knowledge with a few concrete facts,
I'd greatly appreciate it. Also, I'd like to find out the training location
closest to Philadelphia, PA, in case I can join this program. (I'm interested
in joining mainly because I'm one of the top Applephiles on my college campus,
but also because it's another feather in my cap that may come in handy later.)

Any info would be warmly welcomed.

Thank you.
