Here is another one....on bootup, at random times, internal 80 (quantum) is not recognized. First MacIIx had a bad SCSI chip and Internal Drive, now that I have another which was replaced, this problem has arisen. Is Apple aware of this problem? I have seen several other users having this problem and while it is great to have company, non-recognition on bootup is becoming quite annoying. I too, have tried Sum tools etc to find the internal hard drive, but to no avail. Would appreciate some advice on this. SCSI cdev will show that it is there, but it will not appear on the desktop, thus I cannot install new drivers. I am getting " Bad SCSI Cmd" messages in some of the utilities programs. So, what's the deal here? Any help would be appreciated. I seam to have a similar problem with a Mac II with an Apple SD60 internal scsi. The verdict is not in yet, but try moving the monitor physically away from the Mac and rebooting... Don't ask me why. Brion Johnson
