Ok netters, I got problems and questions, and would really really appreciate some resolutions and answers....please? I am using the newest multifinder I could get my hands on, multifinder 6.1b7 I think, and when I checked, it said "n/a - the file is busy" in the get info box, if you can believe that. The problem begins like this... (I know, I know, sorry but I'm stumped) For the past month or so, I have been unable to run multifinder. Yes, I set startup for multifinder, but when I launch an application, the finder quits and there is no way for me to return to the finder to launch another application save quitting the applciation currently running. This isn't the purpose of multifinder. This sounded like the normal finder to me. Anyway, I got my hands on this new multifinder, but nothing changed. So, tonight, I reinstalled the system and finder from the system tools disk that came with the computer (6.0.2/6.1). I also made sure that all the other system documents were also in my system folder. I rebooted. Then on startup, I noticed that the boomerang Icon had a great big X across it, but that is another story, and I'll worry about that later. I launched an application (word 4.0) and rejoiced because I could return to the finder without having to quit word 4.0. Well, then I went to the apple menu, were I was gonna check out the "set aside" option, and I discovered that there was no "About the finder" nor any set aside options. The DA's started at the top of the list. Wha-happened? After fiddling around, I finally quit word 4.0 and when I then checked the apple menu, everything was fine. I saw that the finder was using 170K and that I had a 400K system with 1500K or so left (2 megs RAM). Now, I have launched MacTerminal, and looking the in apple menu, I have the option to set aside MacTerminal, which I just tried. Now, the only way to get MacTerminal back was to relaunch it. Is this right? And once it was launched again, (yes, it retained my position in this editor) I lost the ability to set aside again. I don't get it and I hope someone out there does! Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...many inits, cdev's too. ******************************************************************************* * Greg Ford GEnie: G.FORD3 * * University of Southern California Internet: gford%nunki.usc.edu@usc.edu * *******************************************************************************
