[comp.sys.mac] Floppy first aid tool?

I sometimes have floppies which need first aid, to reconstruct a
name or directory, or whatever, and have not found the Macintosh
Disk First Aid utility to be very helpful.  Does anyone have experience
with other tools or procedures.  I have access to a Plus and an SE.
