[comp.sys.mac] SUM II out

moriarty@tc.fluke.COM (Jeff Meyer) (08/18/89)

For those interested, SUM II upgrade notices have gone out; however, I just
called Symantec customer support up, and ordered my upgrade (I think it was
~$39 -- tax and S&H brought it a bit). Once again, every time I've ever
dealt with Symantec Customer Service, it's been a pleasure -- these people
really go out of their way to be helpful. Wish I'd gone that route with
Think C 4.0 -- could be playing with it by now, instead of waiting for my
check to be cleared...

Anyway, looks like it's time to sell my Hard Disk Partition and Disk Express
software. SUM II's disk optimizer (Hard Disk Tune-up?) will now defragment
disk free space, like Disk Express, which is helpful for making disk
partitions. They also have backup software (I think I'll stick with
DiskFit, thanks) and encryption software (which can be set to individual
partitions). Hard Disk Partition and Disk Express are great programs
(particularly Disk Express) but no need for two programs that do the same
thing...

[I'll sell HDP and Disk Express together for $15 + P&H; both are the latest
versions, though I understand FWB announced/showed a new version at Expo...]
