It's a very italian sounding tune, and I've heard it in other contexts, so I think it may be Rossini, of Puccinni... Any help would be much appreciated. steve

As an alumnus of the Indiana University School of Music (yes, that's in Bloomington, Indiana where "Breaking Away" takes place), I consider myself well-suited to answer the question regarding the music in Breaking Away!!
