My wife needs to run a PC program called SAS. It is a large (12 disk) stats. program that runs on all AT clones. I am considering buying the 286 board for the macII to allow her to run the program. Does anyone know if the current version (2.0) is any better than the original? What drawbacks are there to using this board. The reason that I am not considering softPC is that SAS runs slow enough on a 286! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Interrante Software Engineering Research Center mfi@beach.cis.ufl.edu CIS Department, University of Florida 32611 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Imagine what it would be like if TV actually were good. Stop, Halt, Don't do anything. Unless your wife is doing some pretty mundane low-level work with SAS, spend the money and buy her a 286 to use for SAS alone. I know that you should be able to buy one for $1400 including monitor, keyboard, and 30 MB harddrive. Please don't try and make the MAC a PC. It would be such a shame.
