Does anyone out there in netland have a Mac Plus working with a Houston Instrument model 9012 digitizer (HiPad Plus)? A friend (in Taiwan) is trying to get one talking to his Mac +. He was operating with SYS 5.0 (10/87), but invoking MACTABLET caused his Mac to crash. Now he is running under SYS 6.0.2, and the result is the same: starting to run MacTablet causes the Mac to crash. According to an article in Byte magazine, the HiPAD Plus emulates a Summagraphics digitizer. The HiPad Plus model 9012 has been getting rave reviews in the trade rags, so I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has encountered the same problem.
