I know that this is possible, I just don't know how.....How can I change what the Startup Page says when I turn on my LaserWriter? You know, at the top of the page, it says Apple Computer or Laser Writer, whatever...I saw a page that said something different....how can this be done? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- avalon@ssyx.ucsc.edu ARPA/Internet \ ucbvax!ucscc!ucscb!avalon UUCP > Me! avalon@ucsck.BITNET Bitnet / "You will get a much better idea of how it works if you just PLAY with it." -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The start up page from a LaserWriter has the LaserWriter's name on it. The factory names are "LaserWriter", "LaserWriter Plus", and God-knows-what for the new ones. I have seen a disk called something like "Namer" that I think you got with your LaserWriter. This also sets the name you see in the Chooser. (This is your opportunity to be creative! . . . Or you can be more traditional: The Boston Computer Society has LaserWriters named Larry, Curley, and Moe.) Kent Borg kent@larry.uucp or hscfvax!lloyd!kent

I realize that this has been posted a couple of times before but could someone send me the commands to stop the initialization page on a laserwriter? Thanks! -- Chris North chris@cayman.COM Cayman Systems 26 Landsdowne Street Cambridge MA 02139 617-494-1999

Ha! I bet you think I'm going to ask about how to disable it. Noooooooo! I was wondering if it was possible to change the PostScript that is used to generate the startup. It would be nice to put a little blurb about the owner of the printer and maybe print the owner's logo. Thanks -- Jeffrey A.
