[comp.sys.mac] LaserWriter startup page

avalon@ucscb.UCSC.EDU (Scott A. McIntyre) (08/12/88)

I know that this is possible, I just don't know how.....How can I change
what the Startup Page says when I turn on my LaserWriter? You know, at
the top of the page, it says Apple Computer or Laser Writer, whatever...I
saw a page that said something different....how can this be done?

The start up page from a LaserWriter has the LaserWriter's name on it.
The factory names are "LaserWriter", "LaserWriter Plus", and
God-knows-what for the new ones. I have seen a disk called something
like "Namer" that I think you got with your LaserWriter. This also
sets the name you see in the Chooser.

(This is your opportunity to be creative! . . . Or you can be more
traditional: The Boston Computer Society has LaserWriters named Larry,
Curley, and Moe.)

I realize that this has been posted a couple of times before but could
someone send me the commands to stop the initialization page on a
laserwriter?

Thanks!

Ha! I bet you think I'm going to ask about how to disable it.
Noooooooo!

I was wondering if it was possible to change the PostScript that is
used to generate the startup. It would be nice to put a little blurb
about the owner of the printer and maybe print the owner's logo.

Thanks
