[comp.sys.mac] Info wanted on "laptop" Macs

I am interested in purchasing a laptop type mac type machine.
There are various machines either in the market place or have
promises to be there "real soon".

Are there people out there in net-land that have had direct
hands-on experience using any of these machines?

When will the Apple laptop be on the market?  What will the likely
street and university consortium price be?
