I recently purchased a US Robotics 9600 HST modem which can talk at up 14,400 bps to another USR HST modem. I am now looking for any Mac bbses which use this modem. I have a list of over 100 Atari ST BBSes which use this modem, but have yet to find a SINGLE Mac bbs which uses this high speed modem. I also have some Amiga BBSes that run with the USR 9600 modem. But, I can't seem to find ANY Mac BBSes that use it!! does this mean that Macintoshes can't call out at higher then 2400 baud?? If not, then which modem are the Mac bbses using?? I can't believe that Mac bbs operators haven't heard about the great deals that US Robotoics offers to bbs operators. I got my USR 9600 baud modem for $495 as a sysop. So, please send the name, phone number, and system password (if any) of any Mac bbses which use the high speed USR 9600 HST modem. I will compile a list and post it here. P.S. Don't Mac people call out on modems?? I just got my Mac and would like to call other Mac users. But it is too expensive to call at less then 14400 bps!! Hey, at 14400 bps you get over 100K of data transfer per minute!!! Great for capturing those long messages and reading them offline!! HELP!! HELP!!!! I am looking for ONLY 9600/14400 USR Boards, please!!! richard (gtephx!covertr) covert

Where are you? BMUG has a USR HST. Members only, though. And I'm not sure if it's been working since the Crash. --- Alex UUCP: {att,backbones}!ucbvax!franny!c8s-an INTERNET: c8s-an%franny.berkeley.edu@ucbvax.berkeley.edu FIDONET: Alex.Lau@bmug.fidonet.org (1:161/444)

Macdaze, MacScience, macinfo,Crumals Demension, etc etc all use HST...where have you been... get a copy of Ed Edells lsit of MacBBS's. LOTS use the HST. I now support both HST and telebitTrailblazer. Macdaze is at 408-253-3926, MacScience is at ATDT 9-866-4933 The HST is the std for fido communications and a large number of the Fido echo systems use the HST. Bob Murrow SYSOP MacDaze BBS, MacDaze-II BBS and the Portal MacSIG. Oh, Portal communication will be offering HST access soon, the modem is on order and Connect has HST for user use. I cant reccomed Connect as they charge so much as to make it prohibiitve to use. Ill post the Portal HST number when it comes on line. Bob
