[comp.sys.mac] Quantum 105 meg internal/MacLand/ejectable

jkeegan@hawk.ulowell.edu (Jeff Keegan) (09/02/89)

I recently purchased a Quantom 105 meg internal hard drive for my Mac II.
I have been using a Rodime 20 meg external until now and had no major
problems with it (except for speed (or rather, it's lack of it)). I have
the internal installed and it's working fine except that programs (like
ResEdit, for instance) think it's ejectable. My external never did this (it
seemed to successfully communicate the fact that it was a hard drive, or at
least the installation software did). I purchased the hard drive through
MacLand, and it came with installation software, and I am just curious if
this is a known bug (if it's the installation software) and if a patch is
available (preferably one that wouldn't make me reformatt the hard drive.
Is there a way to fix it right from Fedit?

p.s. BTW - I've had fairly good encounters with MacLand and don't blame
them, I only mention it in case the documentation is not by Quantum
     (I don't have it here).
