Back about 15 or so messages, someone said that their hard disk had a 20 meg "free space" partition. They were wondering how to use it. Well, you can't have two apple partitions (on an apple disk, at least, using HDSetup [I THINK!]), but you can delete the old partition and make a new single, larger partition. NOTE: This destroys all the files in the partition that you are deleting, so be sure to have a backup! I have an apple 40SC hard disk in my Mac II, and noticed that there is actually about 41 meg on the disk, the extra 1 meg being "free space", so now I have a 41 meg drive...big deal, but every megabyte helps... NOTE: I don't think you want to delete the partition marked as the driver, or some such thing... Now my question -- is there any harm in allocating ALL of the disk space for the apple HD partition, or does it not matter. - -= Allon =- - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a test of the emergency signature system. Does anyone know why Apple does not support multiple Mac partitions? It's not hard to do in the driver. The only place it gets hard is in the formatter program, but they are dealing with partitions there, so that can't be the problem. Tim Smith
