At home, I have a 1987 Mac II. At work, we have a new Mac SE/030. I'm sure frustrated with the lousy new Apple mouse. It tracks only about 50% of the time. Cleaning it doesn't help. It just seems to be an inferior replacement of the original ADB mouse. The trackball seems lighter, and it has all-plastic rollers, instead of the 2/3 metal rollers in the original ADB mouse. The original mouse was Made In USA. The new apple mouse is Made in Taiwan. I'm surprised that Apple has started to substitute inferior-quality parts in the macintosh. Especially in the mouse -- the MOST important part of the macintosh computer. If I wanted inferior workmanship, I would have bought a PC-clone. I have to agree. The new-style Apple mice are truly inferior. When I sell my Mac SE, you can be sure it won't be with the old-style mouse. Instead, I'll give the fella whatever comes with the new Mac.
