Well, the bills for all my Macworld splurges are rolling in (actually most of them rolled in at once in the form of a whopping VISA bill) and it appears I may have overspent myself a bit (does this sound like an understatement to you :-) ). Well, one of my more impulse buys was a MicroTech 44-meg removable cartridge drive (for the mac, in case you are reading this on misc.forsale). They had this great price $850 for the drive, and $70 per additional cartridge. I bought one, and it has been everything I had hoped, but it's just more than I should have spent for a whim. Help me out. The drive has a 2 year warranty (most resellers of this drive sell it with a one year) and is in a very attractive se-style zero-footprint low-profile case. The drive includes both 25-50 and 50-50 pin scsi cables, as well as a terminator. the scsi address is externally set by pushbutton, and an init is included that automounts cartridges when they are inserted. I bought the drive plus 2 extra cartridges (for a total of 3 cartridges) for $989.00 + $49.45 tax. The first person to offer me what I paid (o.b.o. after a couple of weeks) takes it. ------------------------- Josh Hodas (hodas@eniac.seas.upenn.edu) 4223 Pine Street Philadelphia, PA 19104 (215) 222-7112 (home) (215) 898-5423 (school office)
