Hi, I have a question for you SCSI experts out there. How do the drives that allow you to change the SCSI ID for it in software (like DataFrames) store that ID? Is it written on the drive itself, or is there something like a EEPROM on the drive that stores that information? Thanks for your help! -Michael Wang +--------------+------------------------------------------------------------+ | Michael Wang | 325 Melville Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94301 | |--------------+------------------------------------------------------------| | ARPAnet, BITNET, CSNET, Internet: mouser@portia.stanford.edu | | UUCP: ...decwrl!portia.stanford.edu!mouser AppleLink: ST0064 | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Michael, Basically...the software (ie Manager) directs the controller to change the SCSI ID# and the controller does the rest and it stores this new information on disk (which track ?). Fabian Ramirez SuperMac Technology fabian@cup.portal.com sun!cup.portal.com!fabian
