What procedure is followed to install a 68851 PMMU into a Mac II? Just drop the chip in? What orientation? I assume with the lettering facing the same way as all the others? First you have to pull out the pseudo-mmu. When you put in the 68851, there
is a notch in one corner of the socket which matches a notch or gold line
on one corner of the top of the chip.
Be careful not to bend any pins. And of course, the customary static
precautions apply.
