A colleague of mine is interested in getting a calendar system that can be accessed by his secretary as well as himself. Both of them are running SE's on a LocalTalk network with Appleshare. I've heard about Multi-user Smart Alarms and Layered's Front Desk; does anyone have any experience with these products in a multi-user environment? I have not even been able to find any reviews, so pointers would be appreciated. Also, are there other multi-user calendar/appointment/reminder systems that you might recommend? Please e-mail to me, and I will gladly summarize to the net. Thanks. Dave Votaw Image Processing Lab Jet Propulsion Lab dlv059@ipl.jpl.nasa.gov

I am interested in information on a similar subject. Does anyone know of a scheduling program for the Mac that will handle a time period for many meeting, rehearsal, and performance spaces for a period from 8 am to midnight 7 days a week. It would help greatly if it were multi-user. Any info and/ or leads would be greatly appreciated. Please respond via E-mail and I will post a summary. Thanks in advance. I know someone who has done a single-user 4th Dimension database that handles scheduling for Apple's Videoconference network, and it presently working on a similar system for Apple's TV network. I believe he'll be converting the stuff to multi-user, but I'm not sure. Also, he's now working in 4D v2.0, so speed isn't as much of a problem as it used to be. He'll be retaining the rights of distribution, etc. on what he's doing, so it's possible he may be available on a contract basis to customize the system for other uses. You can contact me via email and I'll put you in touch with him if this idea interests you. -- ----- Steve Lemke ------------------- "MS-DOS (OS/2, etc.) - just say no!" ----- Internet: cpdaux!steve@apple.com GEnie: LEMKE ----- Or try: apple!cpdaux!steve CompuServe: 73627,570 ----- Quote: "What'd I go to college for?"
