I've started putting bits and pieces of my dissertation into Word 4.0, with a little help from Expressionist (2.03 I think). I've come up with a question that I believe has been asked before: Is there any simple way to get Word to (vertically) center a PICT on a line? Using the "Character..." dialog to type(!) subscript depth by hand is extremely laborious. Ideally, I'd like to just tell the program to center a graphic either on the baseline or along the base character height (without ascenders or descenders). A close second would be to be able to grab a graphic with the mouse and *pull* it down to the height I want. (If you don't understand the problem, don't bother thinking about it -- you probably won't know the solution.) Please e-mail to me and I'll summarize. -- -- Kelvin Thompson, Lone Rider of the Apocalypse kelvin@cs.utexas.edu {...,uunet}!cs.utexas.edu!kelvin
