In case anyone else is interested in the proposed solution to this problem... All of the answers I received (7 or 8 of them) reccomended the same software : Guard Dog, a cdev to prevent changes to the desktop without knowing a 'trick' (or maybe a password). ---> Nemesis Systems P.O. Box 33268 Minneapolis, Minn. 55433 (612) 754-2983 It's shareware for $20... you may be able to find it on-line, or you may want to call Nemesis directly. Apparently the software allows you to set a password and, optionally, a certain key combination so that files cannot be moved, copied, or deleted unless the key combination (or password) is given. Hope this is of help to others... good luck! /Hagan | "Suddenly, in the middle of the flock, hheller@east.sun.com OR | the cook is goosed." -- Gary Larson hagan@athena.mit.edu |
